The 62-voice choir, under the direction of BYU-Hawaii music professor Michael Belnap, embarked Laie on May 9 for a three-week concert tour that will include performances in Xi'an, Beijing, Tianjin and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.īYU-Hawaii dance instructor and alumna Nina Mu Foster, a Uyghur originally from Urumqi, and Wei Minzhi, a well-known actress in China who's a current BYUH freshman, emceed the program. These are all a bit harder than the ST DEV classes, but are still easier than "hard" classes.URUMQI, Xinjiang, China - Over 5,000 people filled the new multipurpose Xinjiang University Gymnasium on May 10 to hear the BYU-Hawaii Concert Choir give its first public performance in this far-western Chinese city. You learn about space, have class in the awesome planetarium, and get to learn constellations. The intro to astronomy class was also really cool. My class had mandatory meetings with writing tutors before we could turn them in, so it was really hard to get a bad grade on the actual paper.Īmerican Heritage was probably my least favorite class at BYU, aside from one CS class I took.Īs for really fun classes that you might not think to take, the Intro to Film/Theater classes were great. I think you just have 3 papers to write throughout the class, each one around 4-6 pages. I don't remember Writing 150 being very difficult. I'm pretty sure you have to purposefully try to get below an A in those classes. The courses are called things like Study Skills, Life Planning and Decision making, etc. They're all student development classes that are quite easy. Take some of the classes in the ST DEV category.
